In 1926, master butcher Josef Wiegand opened a butcher's shop on the site where the company is located today, in Rasdorf (Germany). One of his sons, Hermann Wiegand, initially continued running the butcher's shop. As the owner of a slaughterhouse with made-to-order sales, he developed the "Hängfix®" out of his daily practice: a loop-tying machine that revolutionized the previously slow and physically demanding process of hanging meat. In 1973 he founded the company Hermann Wiegand GmbH, with the Hängfix® as the basis of its business.
The founder passed away in 1980. The company was run for many years by his widow, Anita Wiegand, and from 1999 by their son, who passed away in 2010. Since then, the company has been run by his widow. For more than 40 years, Wiegand Maschinenbau GmbH has been a recognized partner in Rasdorf for craftsmen and industry in meat finishing.
These three concepts sum up WIEGAND's working philosophy. Its machines are manufactured entirely at its facilities in Germany, using stainless steel materials and demanding quality standards, ensuring robust, hygienic equipment ready for continuous industrial use.
All of its products naturally carry CE and GS safety certifications, and almost all come with a two-year warranty.
